Hello,
You are a smoker. You always have
sinus infection, you have
insomnia, headache,
dizziness,
vertigo, pain in the whole body and feel weak and lethargic. Try to quit
smoking gradually, reduce dose weekly. Smoking changes the nasal mucosa and hence there is accumulation of mucus in the nasal passages. (the chemicals used in cigarettes are toxic to cilia and impair natural movement of the cilia in the nasal passages).
Smoking increases the risk of infection due to impaired immunity. Headache, insomnia, generalized weakness are comparatively more in the smokers. Take steam inhalation alternately to reduce sinus problem. You can get X-ray PNS done to detect any nasal septal deviation that may cause symptoms, you will be treated accordingly. Decongestants and antihistamines may help. You can take
Combiflam or
Naproxen, one stat when required to get rid of pain.
Never get addicted to medicines. Take home made balanced diet, rich in mineral and protein to boost immunity. Since you are having vertigo, do not drive, avoid doing heavy work, stay at rest for a couple of days. Get a total health check up done. Get your ears examined, get audiology test and other investigations done. You will be treated accordingly. Stay well hydrated. You can take Vertin -16, one stat when need to get rid of vertigo. get examined and treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
