Can A Plastic Pin Penetrate The Stomach After Being Swallowed?

Question: I guess I swallowed plastic pin with food 2 days ago. I think it passed though the esophagus. No symptom. my concern is that I read some article that plastic could penetrate the stomach. I want to know that I have a gastritis. So the symptom is the same with gastritis . Brash or heartburn. Or different symptom.

it looks like food picking plastic pin. length is below 1cm width is very small. swallowed the one part of plastic pin. and the tip is little bit sharp. I read that stomach has a blood vessel my concern is plastic pin penetrate the surface and get into the blood vessel

Brief Answer: No need to worry Detailed Answer: Hi, Anything that is less than 5 cm in length and 2 cm in diameter will come out in stool on its own. Since the pin you swallowed is less than 1 cm and is very small, it would pass in stool over the next few days. Only sharp metal objects can pierce the inner lining of the gastrointestinal tract.
