Question: Have you ever heard of lost stylette traveling thru system only to eventually exiting thru upper inner leg/groin area

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

I haven't heard that such a thing has ever happened. Moreover, it cannot happen.

A complete stylette can't enter the bloody veins. Even if a small particle is detached from the stylette it will travel through blood veins and will reach right cardiac Chambers ending in the lungs.

In such a case it will cause pulmonary embolism which is manifested with chest pain, dyspnea and tachycardia.

As you can see it just can't get out thrugh the inner leg / groin area.

The wire was removed and it was sent to a lab which came back and was identified as a catheter guide site I am as confused as he physician who pulled it from my leg but I have pics of it trying to poke thru my leg only to poke thru and was pulled the rest of the way out by physician it's weird I know I was nite for 19yrs and never n anything like it before either that's why I put it out there to se. How it could of happened ty
