Maybe i should have clarified my question and reasoning better. I had something in my eye and i rinsed my eye out for 15 mins. During that time it felt like water got in my nose through the nasolacrimal duct. Now about 12 hrs later my nose feels as if something is up there. Im not sure if water is trapped but my nose does feel weird almost like a burning sensation. Does this cause for any concern?
Brief Answer:
no, nothing
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have read your query and understand your concern.
If at present there is no watering from your eyes, then your nasolacrimal duct is still patent, as it drains the tear that is continually being produced by the eye. If it was blocked, your eyes will start watering.
Also the eye secreation has various antibacterial and antiviral components which can take care of minor infection arisings from your prolonged eye washing, including that in the nasolacrimal duct. So you need not worry about it.
Regarding the burning sensation in your nose, that might be because you might has sucked a little water into one of the sinus during the wash and that could be causing irritation. For this I would suggest that you take steam inhalation for 15 mins 3-4 times a day today and if needed then tomorrow also. This should clear off everything even the suspected amoeba.
Hope I have been helpfull.
