Brief Answer:
Ultrasound is not very useful in the evaluation of adrenal glands.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to HealthcareMagic,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

Ultrasound is not very useful in the evaluation of adrenal glands.
Unless it is enlarged due to tumour, trauma etc ,it is difficult to see adrenal glands.
Generally we practice different scanning approach while evaluating adrenal glands.
When we are requested specifically for adrenal then we focus on adrenals meticulously.
Right adrenal gland is more easy to evaluate than left adrenal gland.

It is important to know that CT and MRI are very sensitive to detect adrenal pathology.

Hope I have answered your query.
Further queries are most welcome.
