Can Appendicitis Cause Mucus In Your Stool?
it is not normally seen in appendicitis
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
It is normal to find a small amount of mucus in the stool so if only a little is noted or it is seen on only one occasion it is likely nothing to worry about.
A large amount of stool or consistent appearance may indicate there may be a problem.
Some of the conditions where large amounts of mucus can be seen are: (1) inflammatory bowel disease- crohns and ulcerative colitis
(2)irritable bowel syndrome
(3)anal fissure- cut at the anus
(4)bowel obstruction
(5)bacterial infection of the bowel but not normally as far up as the appendix
If you have abdominal pain, fever, loss of appetite , nausea, vomiting then you should see your doctor to rule out appendicitis. These are the symptoms that it typically causes.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
