Can Delayed Periods Be Caused By Leutal Phase Length?
Question: Hi Doctor,
I have been TTC from past 2 years. We are taking treatment from infertility specialist from past 4 months.This month I had IUI on 18th day. But unfortunately I dint ovulate till day 22. Usually i have regualr periods and i ovulate on 14th or 15th day and i have 29 day cycle. I ovulated after taking 3 HCG shots. Egg size was 25x24mm and endometrium thickness was 11mm.Doctor said i don't have any major problems. My LMP was on september 1st. I don't have period yet this month (03/10/2014). Is this because leutal phase lenghth? Is my egg size and time of ovulation and endometrium is good for me to get pregnancy? When can i have HPT? If it is not successful when can i expect my period?

Hi
Your ovulation delay could be due to luteinized unruptured follicles.
This has nothing to do with luteal phase length.
I suggest request your doctor to increase hCG injection dosage to 10000 IU instead of 5000 IU.
You can do your UPT after 3 days.
Your endometrium and egg size are fine.

Thanks for the reply doctor. Doctor has given me 10000 Iu on 16th day but i dint ovulate. So on 18th she gave me again 5000 IU. Then i have got ovulated on 22nd day. I read that late ovulation may cause mis carraiges. Do i need to worry about it? Also i get period like cramps since 2 days. i am curious to know whether this cycle will give me positive result?

Cramping is not to be worried. If pregnant dont worry about cramping.

Thanks doctor. I dint get my period yet. We are desparately waiting for positive result this month. But i have symptoms of period since 2 days and am worried about it.All the time i feel like i got my period. So when can i exactly take UPT please suggest. When can i expect my period? My ovulation day was sep 22nd.Is there chance for pregnancy or will i get my period?
