Is HCG Injection Safe When Suffering From Torn Meniscus?

I was told 3 years ago to have surgery for a torn meniscus or I could possibly develop blood clots. I had no insurance so I did not have it. I will have insurance in a few weeks. I am menopause and have gained 50 pounds over 2 1/2 yrs. I also have Mitral valve prolapse. I would like to do the HCG diet.. I have never had a weight problem until this menopause....and I heard that HCG diet could cause blood clots. Is it safe to do The HCG injections and having the torn meniscus and the MVP? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Of course, HCG injection has many side effects like severe pelvic pain, swelling of hands and feet, weight gain, stomach pain and swelling, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, shortness of breath and urinating less than normal. But no known side effect like developing of blood clots is known with HCG Injection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
