What Causes Swelling Under Jaw And In Neck Lymph Nodes?
Hi, I have been on a high protein, low carb diet taking HCG injections for just over four weeks. Two days ago, my gums started swelling and now my lymph nodes on my neck and points under my jaw are swollen and sensitive to touch. Could the HCG be causing this?
Swollen guns and neck glands are usually due to infection of the gums called gingivitis. The infection is caught by the lymph nodes in drainage area. HCG may not be responsible for this. Therefore, consult an oral or ENT surgeon for examination and investigations as needed. You will be started on proper antibiotic, Metronidazole, probiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines for a course of 5 to 10 days.
If there is no response then relevant tests of blood, ultrasound of neck for glands to see whether there is any collection inside and as needed to know further and have additional or changed treatment. Povidone iodinemouth rinses.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
