Detailed Answer:
Hello! I have been through your question.

Usually it is known that complete series of immunization provides protection from hep B for at least 25 years and, probably for life.
Related your concern you should know that if you have done a full vaccination scheme for HEP B that include three doses of vaccine, you have an immunization from hep B. So ,in this case you should have a positive anti HB s but HBsAg negative .
Please could you send me your test result.

I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.

I had my blood test for hep a and b and c.
Hep a and c showed up negative however hep b showed positive . I have no symptoms from this. Could this be a false positive since they sent me to doa further hep b test with the two strains ?

Detailed Answer:
Hello! Thank you writing back.

Based on your history I think that exist 3 possibility.
1-Maybe you have been HEP B positive before the vaccination (if you have not done HBsAg before vaccination).
2- Maybe your vaccination has failed to create the right immune response to HEP B (anti HBs) and it is possible to get HEP B in this case through sexual intercourse .
3. Maybe this could be a false positive test.

Furthermore to exclude these possibilities I suggest to do full lab tests for HEP B. ( HBsAg, anti HBc IgM IgG, anti HBs, HBeAG, anti HBe).

I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.

Hello! Thank you writing back.

I said that maybe you not have done a full vaccination for Hep B (3 doses of vaccine) and you have failed to create the right immune response to HEP B. After a successful vaccination you should have an anti HBs positive.

I hope my answer helps you.

Hello! Thank you writing back.
I am sorry for my late response.

If you have not been vaccinated for Hep B exist a high possibility to get Hep B infection from this sexual intercourse.
You should know that sometimes patients can have hepatitis B and not know it because may not have symptoms. Even if you have mild symptoms, they can make you feel like you have the flu.
Furthermore I suggest to do a full lab tests for HEP B ( HBsAg, anti HBc IgM IgG, anti HBs, HBeAG, anti HBe) in order to define better the diagnosis.

I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
results are negative for Hep B.

Detailed Answer:
Hello! Thank you for writing back.

I have seen your lab results carefully and I am happy to say that results are negative for Hep B.
Maybe your previous result could be false positive.

Furthermore, you should know that for hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs), a level less than 5 mIU is considered negative, while a level more than10- 12 mIU is considered protective. Any value between 5 and 12 mIU (like you have 10)is indeterminate and should be repeated.

This result (if is more than 10-12mlU) tells us that you have done vaccination for Hep B.

I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.
