Can Homeopathic Medicine Work For Osteoarthritis In Both Knees?

Question: Question for Dr Ratnesh Pandey - My mother-in-law is a chronic patient of osteoarthritis in both knees. It has been for the last 7-8 years. Currently she is under allopathic medication and also does some basic exercises as advised by the orthopaedic doctor. Off late however, it is worsening fast and she is unable to go for her morning walk and also finds it painful if she stands for a long time or, gets up from a sitting or a lying position. Is it possible to atleast check the rate of deterioration of this with homeo medicines? Please let me know if you need to know anything else about your case.

She is currently taking Jointache C2 once daily. The orthopaedic said that the problem is in her patella joint in knee and has undergone substantial wear and tear. She also wears knee cap while walking. Her pain is nowadays increasing while walking. the pain is more in her left knee as compared to left knee. It is also very difficult for her to take the stairs or to get up after sitting for a long time. But the pain doesn't vary with different times of the day or season. She sometimes feels that it increases around aamavasya, though not sure if it is medically proven. Her year old X-ray report says - reduced medial compartment joint space of tibio-femoral joint (right>left). Spiking of tibial spine bilaterally. osteopaths are seen in articular margin of tibia, femur & patella. Osteoarthritis both knee joint.

Thank you doctor. As usual, I have a couple of queries. I am assuming that this can be continued alongside her allopathic medicine. She is also diabetic and is under allopathic treatment as advised by an endocrinologist. Will that interfere with this treatment? Lastly from what we understand, this condition is not going to correct itself. With homeopathy what results are roughly expected? Should the pain get better?

Hello
There is no problem in taking Allopathic medicine along with the Homoeopathic medicine. But make sure that she is not taking any steroid medicine in her medication. Steroid medication weaken the action of homoeopathic medicine thats why desirable result could not be obtain.
This can be treated with the homoeopathy at its maximum extent. But this is not a easy task for her(most people stop the medication in the mid of course ). She has to take medicine and complete the course. She has to avoid cold and advice for some exercise.
I have prescribe the medicine for pain and other complain as well.
You can expect initial relief within a month but for complete course she has to go several course.
A regular update is required for correct medication.

Hope this is clear to you

Thanks
