Can I Have Norethisterone To Delay Period While Being On Microgynon Pills?

Question: Hi. Im currently taking microgynon 30 tablets. im going on holiday on 28th feb which is the date of my next period. however, my period comes about 5 days before i finish taking my pill strip. i wanted to know if i could still take norethisterone to delay it as taking my pills back to back wont work as my period comes before i finish taking my pill anyway. thank you

Hi,

The reason your periods come 5 days before finishing pills is because there are only 21 ACTUAL PILLS in the pack. Rest 7 which you take in end are placebos.

Yes, you can take noreyhisterone for those days.

Thanks for that. just to clarify though, i have 21 pills in my strip but my period starts for example with 5 of the 21 left so in effect i only take 16 before i get my bleed. i do continue taking them and obviously when i go on my pill free week i dont get another bleed.
