Can Overdosed Atenolol Have Any Side Effects?
Question: I may have taken a second 50mg atenolol about an hour after the first. Anything I need to worry about? I usually take 1 a day.
Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry,it is normal dose only
Detailed Answer:
Hello there,
Welcome to HCM, Thanks for writing to us,
Nothing to worry, as you are prescribed a lose dose atenolol of 50mg, an excess dose makes it 100mg which is also a treating dose, so no need to panic.
If you have symptoms like nausea, hypotension (decreased blood pressure), bradycardia (decreased heart rate) visiting a nearby physician is advised.
But 100mg of atenolol won’t cause any difference as the toxic dose is more than 5gm per day.
Need not worry, continue 50mg daily from tomorrow onwards.
Take care.

Hello there,
Nice to see you again,
As I said already, you don’t have to get panic for taking 100mg of atenolol, as it is normal prescribing dose only.
In case if any minor chances of getting symptoms, you have experienced it within an hour.
And still now you are not experiencing any symptoms, you are totally normal.
Hope helped your query
Take care.
