I can understand your concern.

Though I do not use ayurveda for treatment I am aware about the treatment part and want to share with you.

There is no specific evidence of role of ayurveda treatment in schizoaffective disorder. And in allopathy, psychiatrist is not at all come across ayurvedic treatment for psychiatric disorders.

However my wife is ayurvedic doctor and I am aware about treatment aspect. However neither I have treated my patient with ayurvedic treatment nor any patient of schizoaffective disorder patient came to her. However in depression panchkarma, shirodhara and brhami have shown the effects.

Medicines in ayurveda used for psychotic disorder are Jatamansi, Brahmi, Vacha, Shankhpushpi, ashwgandha, XXXXXXX Choice and combination of medicines depend on evaluation of vat, pitta and cough by an ayurvedic doctor.

Other methods are also suggested in Ayurvedik granth 'Charak Sanhita' include Mantrchikitsa, Grahbadha , basti and shirodhara, dhumapan, Abhyang, Swedan.

No psychiatrist in XXXXXXX practices this type of treatment in XXXXXXX up to my knowledge.There are also ayurvedik doctors who have degree- B.A.M.S., MD in manochikitsa. But difficult to find someone who does pure practice of psychiatry. You must consult ayurvedic physician for the same.
