Can Sligh Over Dose Of Sinarest Syrup Cause Any Problem In An Infant?

default
Posted on Sat, 2 Aug 2014
Question: My son is having running nose problem. Our doctor earlier told us to give Sinarest ( Paracetamol + phenylephrine Hydrochloride + chlorpheniramine maleate + sodium cirate) syrup whenever fever is there. We didn't use this syrup from last 2-3 days, but about an hour back by mistake we gave 5ml Sinarest syrup to him. Is there any problem with this sudden over dosage?r
Forgot to mention. My son is 10 months old now.

Brief Answer:
No Problem

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your query. 5ml of sinarest to a 10 months old is not an overdose if given accidentally. Maximum effect of this dose will be mild sedation, this means your son will sleep. There is nothing to worry about it.

Hope I have answered your query.
