Yes, you can. Please note that every gastrointestinal infection can be different and so can be the factor causing it. It may be different than before virus or even bacteria instead of virus. So you can have gastrointestinal infection even more than twice.
Most of gastrointestinal infections heals by itself and no medical attention is necessary. However if it keeps recurring for no visible reason something else can be the factor. In such case some tests might be necessary (like stool tests or blood work).
