Can Taking Misoprostol Before Mifepristone Cause Complications In Abrotion?
Question: I am 14 weeks pregnant and took misoprostol before I took the mifepristone will this process still work.
Brief Answer:
you may have bleeding now.
Detailed Answer:
Dear member,
Thanks for writing.
The mifepristone is to start the process of abortion and misoprostol is to complete the abortion. Ideally the mifepristone
Has to be taken earlier. Now that you have taken misoprostol first you may experience pain in abdomen and bleeding followed by expulsion of the pregnancy . If the bleeding is minimum or absent then please take the mifepristone tomorrow and misoprostol 48 hours later.
As you mentioned 14 weeks I hope you have consulted a doctor regarding this. As at 14 weeks the bleeding is heavy and the pain is more and may require admission to a healthcenter.
Thanks.
