What kind of test would need to find out if it is my thyroid
Thyroid function teasts and clinical history
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.
Obviously first thing is to get thyrroid function tests. Once it is found abnormal it is indication that it lead to depression.
The second thing is detailed history by your doctor as depression due to thyroid problem is slightly different from idiopathic depression.
You do not need to do anything to say that it is hypothyroidism which caused depression as no such exclusive test exists.
I hope this helps you further.
Thanks and regards.
