Diabetic, What Is Defect In Insulin And The Effects Of Glucose Metabolism Who Is Non Insulin Dependant?
Insulin is not affected in type 2 Diabetes.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Thank you for posting you query.
Well looking into your question Type 2 Diabetesis a metabolic disorder . It is characterized by high blood glucose due to peripheral insulin resistance that is the insulin that is produced by pancreas in the body is not able to act on peripheral tissues so it remains unutilised and then can secondarily result in relative insulin deficiency due to organ damage .So basically there is no defect in insulin production .
In absolute insulin deficiency due to destruction of islet cells in the pancreas thus the blood sugar rises due to lack of insulin but the action of insulin on peripheral tissues is preserved .
Take care.
