Difficulty In Conceiving. Was On Birth Control Pills In Past. Advice?

Thanks for posting your query.
I can appreciate your concern.
For pregnancy to occur as you know primary requirement are
1. Good quality ovum
2. Active and motile sperm, sperm in proper quantity
3. Good environment: that is maternal factors like hormone levels, uterus etc.
Something wrong in any of these can lead to difficulty in conceiving.
In case of normal cycle the ovulation normally occurs in mid cycle. In a typical 28 day of cycle the ovulation takes place around 13-15 days. Means if you have unprotected sex during this days there are chances of pregnancy.
You need to try during this period only. Please look for signs of ovulation like
Mild discomfort in abdomen
Increase in cervical fluid
This are normally felt in most of the females. Again it is not a rule.
Apart from this please observe abstinence from sex before this ovulation period so that sperm quality and quantity can be good during this period.
Please keep patience and keep trying.
If this does not help than you need to visit gynecologist and get her examined. Your doctor will do examination and advice ovulation study and other tests as per need.
Semen examination may be needed in some cases.
Please note one thing,
You are quite young, you have got time on your side, please do become impatient. Do not do mechanical sex just to have kids, it will add to your stress and you will not enjoy your life.
I hope this helps.
Please write again if you have something more to ask.
In case you do not have further query, please accept the answer.
Wishing you all the very best in your life.
