Question: Hi, I am a 22 year old, circumcised male. In approximately september 2008 I had sex with a woman of unknown sexual background, and my life has never been the same. Before this day everything was completely normal. A few days after this encounter I started having discomfort urinating and general sensitivity in my penile glans. I went to the walk-in clinic and asked to be screened for anything that could be causing this. I got tested for all the common STI's and a UTI. Turned out I had a small UTI and was given medication. I took all the medication and my discomfort urinating disappeared. However, my general discomfort never subsided. I went back to the walk-in clinic to check the results of all the STI test we had done, and they had all come back negative. Yet this pain was unrelenting. Since then a darker, greyish-blueish hew started to emerge from the bottom of the glans where the glans starts a little under the urethra. Right where the glans meets the shaft but discolouration had only ever occurred on the glans. Since then, the blueish-greyish hew continued to slowly but surely spread along the rim of the glans eventually growing to fill in the gaps from where it began to where it spread. Now it entire bottom half of my glans is this blue-grey colour, and day in and day out i have a radiating pain that comes from the discoloured portion of my glans. I have seen multiple doctors who do not notice the the change for two reasons. when flaccid, the discolouration is not very noticeable, it has more of a slightly yellowish hew to it in comparison to the normal pink hew that i still have on the healthy portions, and is very hard to notice in the bright fluorescent lights of the doctors office. But while erect the difference between the healthy and the unhealthy parts is undeniable. The pink part has the proper texture one would expect, but the blueish part looks swollen, there are not subtle wrinkles or creases as one would expect on skin, its as if the entire blue part is swollen up, presumably with blood, and has a balloonish quality to it, yet the small remaining portion of pink, healthy skin looks completely normal, as it always has. Since the development of the blue portion, I have notice a huge increase in wetness in the area, as if my urethra, does not close completely like it used to. I never used to have a problem with wetness, but now I leak almost every time I urinate. I do not have any sort of burning sensation when I pee any more, that seemed to go away with the UTI, but the unending pain of the blueish area bothers me day in and day out. As well as the never ending wetness caused by my leaking urethra. I have come to believe that the blue area is somehow responsible for the decreased ability to seal my urethra after urination. The pain I feel is also only located in the blue area. Despite some physicians inability to notice the area while flaccid, this problem remains very real and has been effecting my love life severely for several years now. While erect the inflammation is so noticeable that I am to embarrassed to allow any partner to see my penis for fear of ridicule. A few side notes that may be of interest are dull pain in my buttocks and sometimes testicles, but those pains aren't as frequent as my daily penile pain. Also while on a trip to mexico, i began to notice slight red lines around the rim of my penis, only in the areas, they are not sensitive to touch, but they developed and failed to go away, leaving my penis swollen and half blue, with red lines around the rim, and a normal pink top. It looks like anything but a healthy penis I once had before getting involved in that encounter in september 2008. Could this be caused by some sort of XXXXXXX tearing inside my hood caused by friction and alcohol reduced sensitivity? or could I have possibly contracted some sort of STI that was not detected when I first got tested due to a false negative or not naturally producing antibodies to whichever STI I may have contracted? This problem has completely sidelined my love life for many many years, and has been the cause of much anxiety. I have seen two urologists, the first one did a cystoscopy to check the inside, because he did not notice the issue on the surface while my penis was flaccid, and concluded that I did not have cancer, while running no blood tests or anything. The second urologist ran no tests at all after hearing I had seen a urologist previously and dismissed me. What should I do? Is it bad form to demand for the urologist to see my erect penis? There is no end to this matter in sight, and my life is at a stand still. Please help me.
