Do Menstrual Cycle Irregularities Cause Hair Loss And Pain Under Armpit?
Question: I am having increased hair loss and pain under my armpit and I am currently on my period. Could this be related to my menstrual cycle? I have pcos and take XXXXXXX for hair loss. My hair loss has stablizied over the past few years but I am noticing now increased hair loss since just 3 days before my period started and now I am on my second day of my period and I have more hair shedding and shooting pains under my right armpit. Is this normal? Also, since my period started I have noticed scalp tenderness as well. Is this armpit pain, hair loss and scalp tenderness related to my period?
Brief Answer:
PCOS and XXXXXXX maybe responsible for your symptoms
Detailed Answer:
Hi,Madam,
I have carefully read your profile and understand your concern.
The scalp tenderness and hair loss seem to be related to your menstrual cycle irregularities due to PCOS. Oral contraceptives like Medroxy progesterone may work.
Sometimes XXXXXXX can cause severe hair loss. Drugs like topical Minoxidil and soya isoflavones can help to increase your hair density. These drugs can be taken only under strict medical supervision.
Arm pit pain has to be carefully evaluated. Please provide more details about this pain.
Is there any lymph nodal swelling in your arm pit region?
Waiting for your followup query.
Thank you
