My sister was just diagnosed with this condition also. Maybe we are just predeposed?
Brief Answer:
A cytogenetic test for HLA DR7 may suggest familial pre-dispodition.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
Since, you and your sister both are suffering from APLA, it becomes necessary to investigate the condition further.
Is the condition associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)?
If yes then the condition is secondary APLA.
If no such association is present, then it is primary APLA.
A genetic study for HLA DR7 may be taken.
Detection of HLA DR7 may suggest a familial predisposition.
The test can be performed in close siblings and children.
Treatment for APLA should be taken by you and your sister as directed by your doctor.
Thanks and take care
