Question: hi, I'm a 35/M. I have been with only my fiance for almost 3 years and I have never had an STD. My fiance said she has never had an STD either. I woke up today and had my hand resting above my penis on my pubic hair region. I noticed what I thought was a pimple so I started rubbing it and than I went to the bathroom to look at it. once I looked at it I noticed there were about 8 to 12 I'm assuming puss filled bumps or blisters. Does it appear to be genital herpes ?

Brief Answer:
Diagnosis:Likely to be genital Herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the query at Healthcare magic

I have gone through your question and seen the reports attached
Symptoms you are experiencing is indicative of Genital herpes caused by herpes simplex virus. This infection is sexually transmitted.
The virus may live in people for many years without causing any symptoms.
There are few things to help alleviate the symptoms
-Apply cold compress to help decrease pain
-keep the area clean and dry, avoid using tight fitting underwear
-avoid using over the counter creams and gels as it can delay healing
-Wash hands thoroughly after touching affected area to prevent spread of infection
-avoid sexual activity until the blisters heal.
-Use ibuprofen 400 mg(if not allergic) upto 4 times daily for pain

Even though the lesions will heal without any treatment,I recommend that you consult your doctor to confirm the diagnosis and proper evaluation. Your partner may also need to be tested.Your doctor may also prescribe medication like acyclovir which makes healing faster.

Hope I was able to answer your question
