Does ECHO Test Detect The Cause For Heart Palpitations At Night?

Question: I recently went to a cardiologist for an echo test and wore a heart monitor for 24 hours a day later. Won't be getting my results for 10 days and wanted to be prepared to ask proper questions.
My symptoms that led me to cardiologist were palpitations at night, sore left arm and shoulder, sometimes neck pain. My primary care doctor says either its my heart or its not. She is inclined to think it is anxiety but was willing to send me to cardiologist anyway.
What types of things does an echo test show and what will the heart monitor show? Naturally, when I was wearing the monitor, I did not have any "attacks" or a racing heart. Would the echo show if I have any blockages? How do you rule out cardiac problems?

Brief Answer:
Can be ruled out with different tests such as echo, holter, stress test
Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,
An echo test shows whether you have any structural heard abnormality. It will not show blockage in heart vessels.
Holter monitor will show the cause of your palpitations, whether you have arrhythmias or you feel palpitations while have normal rhythm. It can show nothing if you didn't have any palpitation while wearing holter.
Actually sore left arm and shoulder usually are not caused by cardiac problems.
Hope I could help you
