Does Lincocin Interact With Mesulid?
Question: My dentist prescribed Lincocin 500mg 7 days before the work was done. Now he prescribed Mesulid 100mg to be taken for 10 days. My question is would there be a negative reaction if I am taking both at the same time. I have 3 more days to finish Lincocin, and I started to take Mesulid today.
Brief Answer:
you'd better take them separately
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
although the drugs are not supposed to interact they have to be taken separately. The reason is simply that lincomycin is better absorbed when taken with an empty stomach. Nimesulide and other NSAID should not be taken with an empty stomach to reduce the risk for gastrointestinal complications like ulceration and bleeding.
Kind Regards!

You mean I should stop taking one of them and when I am done I should continue retaking the other one?
Brief Answer:
they should be taken at a different time
Detailed Answer:
I mean that lincomycin should be taken with an empty stomach while nimesulide should be taken with a full stomach. This means that they can't be taken on the same time! "Empty stomach" means that you should take it either 1 hour before meals or 2 hours later. So - for example - you should take nimesulide with food and wait a couple of hours before taking lincomycin (or the opposite).
I hope this more clear now. Please ask if you need further clarifications.
