Does MRI Cause Brain Problems?
Question: Does brain MRI catch all brain problems? My cardiologist is concern that the left side of my face swells at night. I have had bad H/A at night and my BP would go up. This all would happen at 3 am. The BP meds have stopped the h/a and the high BP but not the swelling at night. I am now swelling on my right side of my face but not as bad as the left. I did see an ENT but he found nothing wrong. I have talked to you before. I had the Cabbage done last July.

Hi,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com again.
Of course, MRI Brain will help to detect any major structural issues. Since, ENT specialist has already ruled out any concerned issues, its advisable to get a MRI of brain in respect of severe headache and facial swelling.
Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

I got my MRI and it OK. I had the diagnosis of sleep apnea for a few years. I used the CPAP for a while but the system seems to go away so I stopped renting the machine. How does sleep apnea affect everything?
I am on BP meds. for my 3 am h/a which both the bad h/a and the BP is gone but the swelling on my left side continues and it on the right side now but not so bad. I sleep on my right side and my head elevated so I see no connection to my night time position.

Hi,
Thanks for being in follow-up.
Its good that MRI came back normal. As I earlier said that sleep apnea might result into hypnic headache like symptoms. So, it should be treated appropriately, which might be of help.
For now, I would be able to better comment if I see the swelling on your face. Can you click a picture of the same and post it here?
I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
