Does Seroquel Interact With Metoprolol?

default
Posted on Wed, 21 Dec 2016
Question: good evening. my doctor put me on seraquil for anxiety. i just started taking it today. i take metropolol
for high blood pressure and up till today was taking gabapentin for anxiety. they are 25 mg tablets and i take 1 or 2 tablets every for hours as needed for anxiety. I am a little concerned about taking all this stuff.

Should I be concerned about putting all this stuff in my body? Or would the doc and pharmacy not have done this if it were dangerous?? Thanks for your time. XXXX

Brief Answer:
Its safe to use all these drugs, no need to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for asking from HCM

I can understand your concern. Seroquel is Quetiapine and the drug is a safe to use drug. In low doses 25-100 mg the drug is used for control of insomnia, anxiety symptoms. Metoprolol is an antihypertensive drug. The drug has no significant drug interactions with Seroquel and can be taken safely.

Gabapentin 25 mg too is very low dose for anxiety. You are taking it every four hours and I don't think taking this drug with Seroquel would cause any serious adverse effects.

So remain relaxed, putting all this stuff in body will not be dangerous.

Thanks, Take care
