Does Viibryd Interact With Clonazepam?
Question: Happy new year Dr. my concerns are with the interactions between medications. I have had aids for thirty years, all is well. Muscular dystrophy lgmd. For over twenty years, and am experiencing more weakness as of recent. Cardio and vascular disease. My concerns dear dr. Are the interactions of the medicines. Especially as it affects the muscular dystrophy. I also have had severe depression and anxiety and began a new drug, Viibryd and clonazepam. I so appreciate any information you my advise me. Sorry for late response.
I have checked about the drugs which you have mentioned.
Following are my suggestions:
Fluoxetine being an enzyme inhibitor can affect the metabolism of carvedilol and losartan and increase their blood levels. So doses of these drugs should be carefully adjusted.
Fluoxetine and viibryd can both increase serotonin levels. These should not be used together as far as possible.
Prilosec can also increase blood levels of losartan.
So, a desired effect from carvedilol and losartan can be achieved with a relatively lower dose, when used in combination with Fluoxetine.
However, do not make any changes on your own. Please discuss this with your doctor and proceed accordingly.
