Posted on Tue, 13 Oct 2015
Question: Have been Rxed prednisole for reduction of swelling of the cornea. Have been told I no longer have any endothilium cells. My swelling has gone down somewhat, but am afraid that continued use of prednisole may lead to less not better visual acuity. drops in left eye).
Am v. concerned about what to do. Have decided against a transplant in that eye. I am 84.
Any thoughts? I am wearing a "bandaid contact lense" Have been doing so constantly on advice of docs opthamologist for past 12 days. Any help you can give, or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
corneal trasplant.

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
As you have good vision in one eye there is no harm in having a corneal transplant in the other eye.
As a procedure it is not a big procedure and you will be greatly benifitted by this.
Bandage lens and vigamox my improve the dituatin but transplant are useful.
You do not have to make decision just now.Give the medication some time ,if it improves then ok otherwise go in for transplant.
Any further query in this regsrd, please do get back to me.
