Does A Fasting Blood Sugar Of 128 Require A Medical Consultation?
Increasing the dose of medicines may be suggested
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.
Considering your Fasting and PP levels and history of angioplasty there is a need for better blood sugar control.
In such a case I may suggest-
- Detailed history taking including diet assessment, other medicines.
- Investigations
HbA1c
Lipid Profile
Kidney function test including urea, creatinine, electrolytes.
2Decho report.
Depending upon above appropriate changes in medicines can be suggested.
If Ejection fraction on 2DEcho and Kidney function is ok increase in the dose of metformin (upto 1500 to 2000mg) and Glimepiride (upto 1.5 to 2mg) may be suggested.
(Glimisave M1 contains Metformin 500mg + Glimepiride 1 mg)
Along with this following diabetic diet and regular exercise depending upon effort tolerance may me re-enforced.
Hope this helps you.

Dr Abhay Mali.
