Hydrocephalus is not the effect of alcohol.
The common causes of hydrocephalus are:
1. Brain shrinkage (atrophy),
2. Tumor
3. Infection of brain or its covering,
4. Normal pressure hydrocephalus.
MRI brain with contrast followed by lumbar puncture (if needed) can sort out the diagnosis.
