Brief Answer:
yes,cataract can cause such symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Yes, cataracts can cause double vision in most of the cases.

It is very common not to notice any symptoms with early cataracts. As a cataract becomes more advanced, decrease in clarity of vision, not fully correctable with glasses, is noticed.
You probably should see your eye doctor again and get examined to determine the cause of this.

Regarding the lump in your hand ,there are many possible causes for this.
The X-ray can make the difference if the lump has involved the bone or it is a lump of soft tissue. In this case it might be a cyst, lipoma , a ganglion cyst, benign tumors that form under the skin, fibromas etc.
The X-ray at some point can evaluate the content of the lump ,if it has calcifications inside or not.
Further diagnosis depends on the medical history and physical examination.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubt to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.

Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati
