Question: Hi Doctor. Does cocaine use have any effect on the healing process of the eardrum (a hole)?

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Although there have been no proven studies to tell if cocaine has an effects healing of the ear drum but speaking scientifically , it is likely to have an effect on the healing.

cocaine causes vaso-constriction which means it causes constriction of the blood vessels and reduces blood supply to the affected tissue , thereby decreasing healing and increasing the chance of infection.

please avoid using cocaine , and if possible , try to quit it altogether,
