Hi,
Noted your history of reduced hearing, recurrent infections in left ear with ear drum perforation.
As per the history my thoughts are as following.
The prerequisite of a successful treatment in such a case are as follows:
CT scan of the mastoids to know how much the bone and cavities are affected to decide the type and extent of surgery required.
Audiometry to know the exact cause of
hearing loss and to know whether surgery will help to regain hearing or not.
Pus culture and sensitivity from the affected ear to know the best antibiotic suitable to control the infection.
Consult a Cardiologist to know the cardiac status and fitness for
anesthesia and surgery and get treated to be optimally fit heart wise.
All these things under Specialists will help to know the exact diagnosis and plan of management.
Stop self cleaning as this is the cause of recurrent infections in your case as per the history you have provided.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
