Brief Answer:
no short answer
Detailed Answer:
If you mean taut it could be rupture aneurysm into stomach then stool would be coloured with fresh blood and patient would be pale and hypotensive. Bleeding cancer or ulcer may cause black stools and it can be ruled out only by gastroscopy

Brief Answer:
death is probably not related to black stool
Detailed Answer:
I dont think that stomach cancer is direct cause of her death because it is chronic condition which usually bleeds minorly and can cause anemia, but excessive bleeding and hemorhagic shock is rare. there may be stomach ulcer rupture that caused peritonitis and sepsis, but fatal bleeding from stomach would manifest with blood vomiting and fresh blood in stool. However in her age, any disorder may be more serious comparing to younger ones. so it could be bleeding ulcer that triggered myocardial infarction or pulmonary embolism.
