Does Cortisone Injection Cause Blood Clots?
Question: I had a cortisone injection in my left knee in May of this year. last week I was diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in my left leg below the knee.I have no history of blood clots. is ther a potential connection between the cortisone injection and the development of the clot?
Brief Answer:
No connection
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
There is no connection between inarticular injection with steroids and development of venous thrombosis ( blood clot). It looks like two seperate issues. Your doctor has put you on the right treatment for it, please continue to take it.
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
I wish you good health and a speedy recovery
