Question: My husband a veteran has been exsposed to AGent orange and Camplejuene contamination. He has been diagnosed with Pionidal cysts and his left testicle was said to have one in it. When path report came in it was Leiomyosarcoma and a city wide urology conference consulted on this . The consensus is to do wide orchedectomy and done then matastic colon cancer of a said to be differentiated origin appears and was stage 4 in months time.
I believe it was the leiomosarcoma in which theres not much on the intratesticular one as its rare and Its soft tissue Sarcoma is related to exsposure to Agent orange. Whats your opinion and also can it be secondary as appeal documents show

Brief Answer:
Research show disputed link between agent orange and testis leiomyosarcoma

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
Thanks for writing in to us at hcm.
This is Dr.Riyanka and I am glad to be helping you with your query.

There is a disputed association between agent orange exposure and leiomyosarcomas and intratesticular leiomyosarcoma is a rare condition that has not been heard much about and research studies are still going on to fight this claim. In the absence of strong association, the causative relationship between agent orange and intratesticular leiomyosarcoma continues to be speculating.

It will be important to share information on one research study in 1994 involving Vietnam war veterans. The conclusion drawn quotes "study results are not consistent with the hypothesis that Agent Orange may be a risk factor for testicular cancer among Vietnam veterans". There were 97 veterans with a diagnosis of testicular cancer in this study and none of them were said to be directly related to agent orange exposure.

A secondary cancer spread to testes is rare but not unheard of. There have been cases where testicular secondary was the only sign of cancer in a patient and this is usually seen in elderly men.

Hope this answers your query. Don't worry .
