Does Regular Intake Of Zolpidem Cause Brain Damage?
Question: Good Morning from LA!
My sister continues to struggle in spite of lots of reassurance that her taking Zolpidem 3 nights in a row has not caused her any brain damage. She has already, through me, been reassured by Web MD that this is the case. However, she continues to be terrified that she has suffered permanent brain damage because she continues to have the original symptoms: slowness especially in the left side of her brain, insomnia, nausea in the morning when she wakes up, dark spots floating in her eyes in the morning only. She has tried every doctor on the planet (almost) including Chinese Medicine (which I believe she should stick with). I agree that anxiety is an issue along with lots of anger that she is experiencing all this. Thoughts? Thanks!

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
I think your sisters is suffering with health anxiety or hypochondriasis which is characterized by fear of serious medical illness. On reassurance patient gets relief for some time but again goes to the same thinking pattern and anxiety.
The best treatment for the condition is SSRI group of medications along with psychotherapy.
In my opinion you need to visit a psychiatrist along with your sister so she can be examined and needful can be done.
I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.
