Feeling Cold, Shivering, Joint Pain And Getting Headache. Is This Due To Any Virus?

Question: My husband is 67 and the last few days has been feeling unwell, achey, joints, headache which doesnt seem to go, today he seemd a little better, went out then suddenly severe pain over right eye and shivering, with feeling cold, could this be a virus of some kind?

Thank you for posting your query.

Based on the symptoms, your husband could be having a viral fever.

It is common to get achy joints, headaches, and a feeling of being unwell in viral fevers.

As of now, symptomatic treatment would be fine. You may give him paracetamol or ibuprofen tablets round the clock (about three times daily).

He should get better in a few days. If not, you may consult a doctor. There is no need to worry at present.
