Question: I am a male 33 years old and have 4 disks in my neck that are slightly buldging. I had a cat scan of my head and neck but they both came back normal. I am having strange vision symptoms. Not dizzyness but when I stand up my vision go's blurry and the things are jumping like i can't focus. I am not having any double vision. A few times I turned my head and saw a dark blue light and A few times it was like the lights blinked where things went black. I have been to the eye doctor a few months before this started and they found nothing wrong. Also had blood work done a few months back and it was fine. My muscles in my neck are loose. It feels like a spasm in my neck when this happens. I have felt pressure in my neck and neck pain . It go's away when I lay down. I have been going for traction therpy the last few weeks. My neck feel slightly better but the vision symptoms are still here. The mri showed nothing pushing down on a nerve. I have also been having tunnel vision. I am not taking any medicines to have caused this. The neck trouble pressure and pain came on at the same time as the vision symptoms. I do not have any nunbness or tingling in my arms. right now everyting is hurting my neck laying down the wrong way being in the car being at the computer.

Hello,

Thanks for the query.

The pain in the neck is probably due to early degenerative Cervical Spondylosis.

For this you require medications to reduce the pain, neck and shoulder strengthening exercises and preventive measures like using thin pillows, avoiding heavy weight lifting.

Secondly the tunnel vision, blurred vision and focusing difficulty may be due to following reasons

1. Retinal and optic nerve problems (Demyelination)

2. Raised intracranial pressure due to many causes

3. Ocular movement problems like nystagmus

4. Vestibular dysfunction (inner ear)

4. Some times psychogenic

This requires detailed neurological evaluation and multidisciplinary approach with ENT, Ophthalmology and Neurology.

It is difficult for me to conclude without examining you. So please consult good clinical neurologist for second opinion and try to solve the visual problems. Tunnel vision is something to be taken seriously.

Hope I have answered your queries. I will be available for your follow up queries if any.

Wishing you good health.

Regards.
