Given Expired Tylenol To Child For Fever. Am I In Serious Trouble?
Question: Hi Doctor, My 2 years old boy have fever since last night and we gave him Children's Tylenol which say(Acetaminophen Suspension USP) with expiry dec 11 at night and now about 5ml each time. Just realized its expired. Am I in serious trouble?
My Son weighs over 30lbs.

There is nothing much to worry about, if a drug is given after its expiry date (by a few months), then the efficacy of the drug comes down by 10-15% and it does not turn poisonous or cause any side effects.
However, in future it is advisable to take any medicine or drug only after checking the expiry date of the drug. Also for fever, use Acetaminophen only under your son’s pediatrician guidance. Please do not use any aspirin as it can cause Reye’s syndrome.
