Hi there.

Did you try any new medication for anything?
Are you taking any anti-platelet medication like aspirin or clopidogrel?
Any bleeding episodes in the past?
Do you have similar purplish discolouration over nose, lips, face or any purplish patches inside mouth or over any other parts of the body?
Do you have hypothyroidism?

Please get your hemoglobin, total WBC count and platelet counts done.
Watch for other symptoms like any unusal breathlessness, tightness in hands, numbness in hands, development of purple discolourations in new places over the body, any increase in the intensity of the dicolouration etc. This should warn you to see emergency room.

Till that get the blood tests done. Stop the aspirin/ clopidogrel temporarily till you see resolution of the symptoms. Please get back with the reports. Take care.
