Have Dark Callus In Between Knuckles On Both Hands. How To Remove This?
Question: My daughter has dark callous in between her knuckles on both hands. She takes a bath/shower every other day. I've never seen this before. I don't know if I should lotion and let the skin soften and keep cleaning. I just want to make sure it's not something parasitic.
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on Health care Magic.
Parasitic infections are not associated with formation of callus.
Callus is formed by proliferation of the upper most layer of the skin. It appears as white colored dry scales that are adherent to the underlying skin.
Is the lesion described by you similar to this description?
If the lesion is truely what you have described then it could be a corn.
Corn can be softened by using emollients and/ or keratolytic agents.
They are harmless lesion causing cosmetic issues.
sometimes they can grow to form a horn like structure.
In that case they need to be surgically.
If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer.
