Why Is The Reason For Recurring Sore On Toe Which Is Itching And Swelling?
i have a recurring sore on o my 4th toe - it swells, and opens up in same spot periodically. very sensitive and achy when shoes are worn, no problem during summer when open toed shoes are worn I've tried hydracortizone cream to calm it down at night. any idea why it comes back?
I would keep a possibility of a Corn. A corn is localised hyperkeratotic skin which presses on to underlying nerves when pressure is applied over the surface of corn e.g during walking, thus causing pain.
I would advice that you see a dermatologist who would prescribe you a Keratolytic paint which you need to apply every night with an applicator. Before applying the keratolytic paint, it is important to soak the area in lukewarm water so that the skin becomes soft.
You can take an OTC pain killer like ibuprofen once OR twice daily depending on the requirement.
take care regards
