Hi,
Thank you for consulting HealthcareMagic!
Your mother's lipid levels are slightly abnormal. As she has associated Hypertension(high BP), this needs to be definitely addressed. However, if her blood pressure is very well controlled, the diet and exercise (provided these are strictly followed) should suffice. However, a physical examination is needed to properly decide the treatment plan.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, please let me know!

Hi,
Thanks for the update. I am sorry that I misread it as your mother instead of your wife. But all the remaining things are related to your query. Vitamin B 12 levels are within normal limits and that is the reason I did not comment on it.
And "lipid levels" which I have mentioned includes triglycerides and other kind of lipoproteins. The triglycerides which as you think are not very high. I feel that it is better to start with diet, exercise and lifestyle modifications before initiating drug treatment. However, to properly decide the treatment plan a physical examination is mandatory.
Regarding your question about work out it varies from individual to individual based on physical examination and should be decided by treating doctor. Today’s research indicates that a move toward individualizing the treatment plan is warranted and it can happen only after physical consultation
Sorry again for the confusion!
Wish her good health.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in replying. I understood that she has BP. As I have mentioned previously also, since she has associated Hypertension(high BP), this needs to be definitely addressed. However, if her blood pressure is very well controlled, the diet and exercise (provided these are strictly followed) should suffice to manage her triglyceride levels (which you are bothered about). However, a physical examination is needed to properly decide the treatment plan.
Regarding how much distance to walk, I usually recommend walking more than 30 min a day at a speed of 4 to 6 kilometers per hour. However, there are certain contraindications for walking which vary from person to person and should be decided based on physical examination by treating doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, please let me know!
