Have Fallen And Have Pin On Top Of Rib Cage And Had Bad Cough Like Gagging. What To Do?

Question: I think i might of Bruised/cracked a rib because i fell out of our pool and landed on grass. The pain is at the top of the rib cage. Or i have also had a very bad cough where i have been coughing so much i was actually gagging. So i am not sure how i might of done this. What should i do now.

It might be soft tissue injury or fracture rib.

Without X-ray, it is difficult to differentiate a fracture from others. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.

In the interim,apply ice packs to the affected area,anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid lifting and rest well.
