Have Hiatal Hernia. Feeling Nausea, Pressure In Head And Burning Sensation In Abdomen. Heart Problem?

I have been able to eat very little the last few weeks without getting extremely full, a bit nauseas and sometimes, light headed and feeling a lot of pressure in my head. Last summer a chiropractor told me I have a hiatal hernia, but it didn't bother me much except for a bit of burning in my abdomen if I ate chocolate and coffee. Wondering what I need to do. I have started eating very small amounts. My heart is speeding up again right now. I'm also wondering if this could also be a heart problem
You are in your mid fiftees and your symptoms of fullness
feeling after eating and feeling light headed suggests some
problem with contractions of the stomach and blood sugar
fluctuation. You also mention about a hiatus hernia.
I am not sure if this diagnosis was made after an x-ray
of the esophagus and stomach or an endoscopic examination.
Chocolate and coffee both can stimulate acid production in the
stomach. I want to make sure that you are not a diabetic.
If you have not been tested for that, please get it done.
Diabetes will affect the contractions of the stomach and there
is delay in food emptying into the intestine. That is the reason
for early satiety giving you full feeling.
If there is damage to the lining of the lower esophagus from acid
reflux , you could develop scar tissue or narrowing at the junction
of the esophagus and stomach. In that case, you will have trouble
swallowing especially solid foods.
You mention "Speedy Heart " sometimes.
If you have not had an electrocardiogram , you should get one.
Get a complete set of blood tests including blood count, liver, kidney,
cholesteriol, both HDL and LDL and triglycerides, thyroid tests and
electrolytes .Check your stool for hidden blood.
You can dis cuss all these with your doctor who can set you up
for these.
Hope this is of assistance to you.
I wish you well.
