Thank you for your answer. I am obviously worried about surgery on my hand as I have limited use now and would like it to be improved but terrified to make it worse! I have consulted Dr Brenner in Pinehurst but friends have said it would be better to go to a big hospital. The best one I know of in the area is Duke hospital in Raleigh.
