Methamphetamine is a stimulant drug and it acts by activating Norepinephrin transmission or in simple terms stimulates sympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic nervous system is a part of nervous system that is responsible for stimulatory effects and it cause constriction of blood vessels and consequent stagnation of fluid leading to edema.
Best way to avoid it to not to use meth. Second thing that should be done is to keep two pillows beneath feet while sleeping so that dependent edema doesnot occur.
